I caught it on a day no one else on the lake caught a thing. It was part of a three fish catch including a personal best 7lb tench and the fish bellow.

As this is my favourite fish as they look so much more impressive than the Mirror Carp and are much harder to locate than there common counterparts the Mirror Carp.

So I found a place in the south of France with a lake near which we were told held a large head of carp and catfish, So they agreed to go and during my time their this was the biggest carp I caught on an Active-8 boilie over trout pellets near an island in the middle of the lake.

Both of the fish were in double figures the biggest was a mirror that went 13lbs 8ozs and the other one was a common that went 10lbs 8ozs. They were both caught fishing tight to snags in the margins of the lake. The fish were both caught using a bed of trout pellets and hair rigging Assassin-8 boilies made by Mainline with I have just started testing getting ready for the new season. Although these are pretty expensive at 6 pounds for 400 grams but the results I have had so far are very good.
