This fish was part of a large haul of perch that I caught from a private lake near Colchester. the fish was one of over ten pounds of perch that I caught in a day as the lake is absolutely full of perch which all weigh about an ounce each. The lake also holds a big head of Bream and Carp but the only problem is getting though the massive shoals of perch as the carp grow to well over 20lbs and I would be very happy to catch one in the future.

Another one of my aims for this season was to catch a descent perch so that I could claim my Mission Accomplished badge in Improve Your Course Fishing. This is the fish that did it it weighs 1lb 8oz and I caught it with just days left in the season. I caught it on the river Stour trotting maggots,this is only the fourth perch that I have caught that weighs over the pound mark,it may only be a small fish but as you can see I was really pleased to catch it as it was the only target I had set myself that I had not caught.All I can say now is bring on next season so that I can catch myself a three pounder and get my specimen mission badge.
